Google Wallet has added a new security feature to protect your data. Previously, verification was required only for making payments, but now it's needed for any activity in the app after three minutes.
The new security measure aims to safeguard details stored in the app, such as payment cards, tickets, and identity documents, preventing unauthorized access even to view the app's contents.
The security upgrade was spotted in version 25.18 of Google Wallet app on Google Pixel and Samsung smartphones, indicating ongoing testing. Additionally, the Wear OS version may soon require users to enter a PIN for contactless payments.
As digital wallets store a wide range of personal information, including vital documents, enhancing security measures like requiring initial verification could further protect users' sensitive data.
