Google has updated the Android Search bar widget with a cleaner and more modern look to fit in better with the newest Android style.
The new design features a pill-shaped design following the newer 'circle to Search' style, with increased height for easier tapping and bolder styles to match Google's new Material 3 design.
One significant change is the shortcut button, which is now placed in its own circle on the right side for better visibility and easier access. Users can choose from various shortcut options like AI Mode, Translate, Song Search, Weather, Sports, News, Finance, or disable them if preferred.
The updated version of the Search bar widget requires a 4x1 space on the home screen compared to the previous 3x1 size. Users can still customize the widget's transparency and the update is rolling out with Google app version 16.17 (beta).
