Hatch Product Development & Contract Manufacturing has licensed advanced EV charging technology from Argonne National Laboratory.
The platform enables constant digital communication between EVs, charging stations, and the power grid using protocols such as ISO 15118 and SWCAN (SAE J2411), supporting bidirectional charging, multi-device charger control, and remote diagnostics.
Hatch will manufacture and further develop the technology at its facility in Waukegan, Illinois, focusing on US manufacturing and high-quality deployment.
Argonne National Laboratory's Principal Electrical Engineer stated that the platform is designed to be flexible, secure, and scalable, enabling the next generation of intelligent grid-integrated charging technologies. Hatch aims to upgrade charging infrastructure, from individual smart chargers to nationwide grid integration.
