Taking screenshots on iOS 18 and earlier displayed a thumbnail in the bottom-left corner, while iOS 26 opens the screenshot in full-screen.
Exiting the Markup interface in iOS 26 activates visual intelligence on the screenshot, making it cumbersome to take multiple screenshots quickly or share instantly.
You can revert this behavior in iOS 26 by turning off Full-Screen Previews in Settings > General > Screen Capture after taking the first screenshot.
Turning off Full-Screen Previews stops subsequent screenshots from opening automatically.
After the change, a thumbnail appears in the bottom-left corner for 3 seconds before being saved in Photos.
