China’s Huawei has launched an upgraded version of its smart glasses, Titanium, with simultaneous translation and other AI-powered features.
The Eyewear 2 Titanium smart glasses come with titanium temples and round or squared frames, and offer voice commands, gesture controls, simultaneous translation, and audio reminders of weather and scheduled activities.
Global shipments of AI-enabled glasses are expected to grow 130% this year to 5.5 million units, with China accounting for around 500,000 units.
Several Chinese companies including Alibaba, Baidu, Huawei spin-off Honor, and Xiaomi have also launched their own smart glasses.
