Hubble's infrared view of emission nebula Sh2-284 reveals brilliant young stars hidden within clouds of gas and dust. The nebula is shaped by a young central star cluster, Dolidze 25, and classified as an HII region, consisting primarily of ionized hydrogen. The image also highlights the low-metallicity of Sh2-284, resembling the early universe with mostly helium and hydrogen.Sh2-284 is located 15,000 light-years away in the constellation Monoceros.
