Hyundai plans to expand production capacity at its $7.6 billion EV factory in Georgia by two-thirds, increasing it to 500,000 vehicles per year.
The company is currently producing Hyundai's Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 9 models at the factory, and around 1,200 people are employed at the plant.
In addition to the expansion plans in Georgia, Hyundai also intends to build a $5.8 billion steel mill in Louisiana to produce auto parts for its assembly plants.
Hyundai's investment in these manufacturing facilities highlights its commitment to stay, invest, and grow in the American market.
