Hyundai plans to launch a hydrogen production and dispensing facility near its Georgia EV plant to support Class 8 fuel cell vehicles and heavy-duty trucking operations in the region.
The HTWO Energy Savannah development, a collaboration between HTWO Logistics, HydroFleet, and Capital Development Partners, is set to begin operations in late fall 2025 near the Port of Savannah, one of the nation's busiest freight hubs.
The site will have hydrogen production stations generating 1,200 kilograms of hydrogen per day initially, with the ability to scale up to 4,200 kilograms per day to meet future demand. Phase Two will add charging infrastructure for commercial battery-electric vehicles.
Hyundai's SVP, Jim Park, highlights the significance of HTWO Energy Savannah for the heavy-duty trucking industry, offering zero-emissions refueling for trucks in the Savannah region. CEO of HydroFleet, Scott Moe, emphasizes the initiative's role in revolutionizing sustainable logistics infrastructure.
