A recent report by digital employee experience (DEX) company 1E found that implementing tools for monitoring employee productivity and tracking remote activity is becoming increasingly common among businesses.
79% of companies not already using these tools expect to implement them in the next three years, according to the report.
However, 73% of IT managers are uncomfortable instructing staff to use such technology without full transparency, and 72% of IT workers would help coworkers find workarounds.
The use of monitoring tools is leading to staffing issues, with 28% of employees quitting and 27% of IT managers facing difficulty hiring new employees.
