India takes a moonwalk: Pragyan rover touches down on lunar surface

  • Chandrayaan-3's Pragyan rover has successfully rolled out of the Vikram lander and is onto the Moon's surface, the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
  • "The Ch-3 Rover ramped down from the Lander and India took a walk on the moon!," it said.
  • The spacecraft’s Vikram lander made the soft landing at 6.04 PM (IST) on Wednesday, ending the disappointment over the crash-landing of the Chandrayaan-2 lander four years ago.
