Instagram will no longer refresh the feed upon launching the app, unless users physically swipe up or down to scroll past it.
The previous 'rug pull' system, which refreshed the feed while users were still viewing content, has been discontinued.
The decision was initially made to reduce loading time and boost engagement, but Instagram admitted it was annoying and had a negative impact.
Instagram has also implemented updates to combat digital sextortion, added more restrictions to accounts owned by users under 16, and introduced new communication features.
