Apple's iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2 software allows users to set a volume limit for the built-in speaker of their iPhone and iPad to protect their hearing.
The feature is new in iOS 18.2 and iPadOS 18.2, as iOS already supports volume limits for AirPods and other Bluetooth headphones.
To set the volume limit, users can navigate to the Sounds & Haptics settings, select the Built-In Speaker section, and enable the Limit Maximum Volume switch.
The volume limit applies to media playback and does not affect phone calls, FaceTime calls, emergency calls, and system sounds.
