A new survey conducted by two child safety organizations has found that Apple's App Store distributes risky and inappropriate apps to children.
The survey reviewed 800 apps and identified over 200 risky apps with a combined total of over 550 million downloads.
Some of the concerning findings include chat apps allowing communication with strangers, unfiltered internet access, body-related apps promoting fasting and low calorie goals, and gaming apps focusing on explicit content and violence.
The report suggests improvements such as third-party reviews, transparent rating process, enforcement of age ratings, effective parental controls, and collaboration with external organizations.
