ISRO has successfully launched Aditya-L1, India’s 1st space-based observatory to study the Sun

  • India's space agency, ISRO, successfully launched its inaugural sun-study mission, Aditya-L1, via the PSLV-C57 rocket from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.
  • Aditya-L1 will be positioned in a halo orbit around Sun-Earth Lagrangian point 1 (L1), located approximately 1.5 million kilometers away from Earth.
