US-based solid-state battery technology developer Factorial Energy has signed an MOU with LG Chem to develop solid-state battery materials for EVs.The partnership aims to combine LG Chem’s battery material capabilities with Factorial’s next-generation battery material and process innovations.LG Chem seeks to expand its R&D capabilities for new materials, including solid-state electrolytes, and increase battery material sales by 2030.Factorial Energy is developing its Factorial Electrolyte System Technology (FEST) to enhance EV performance and safety.
