MeerKAT, a radio array located in South Africa, has confirmed the existence of the cosmic background of gravitational waves. The North American Nanohertz Observatory for Gravitational Waves (NANOGrav) had previously released their observations based on millisecond pulsars.MeerKAT gathered data on 83 pulsars in just four and a half years, confirming the existence of cosmic gravitational waves.Further data is needed to determine the origin of these waves, which may be generated by binary black holes in the Milky Way.
