Mercedes' electric luxury van, the VLE prototype, showcased its efficiency and long range by driving from Stuttgart to Rome with only two quick charging stops, covering 677 miles.
The VLE is set to have over 311 miles of pure electric range and will also offer combustion variants. Production is expected to begin in 2026.
The VLE uses an 800-volt platform, VAN.EA, with two versions: VAN.EA-P for passenger vehicles and VAN.EA-C for commercial use. A larger variant, VLS, and possibly a Maybach version might also be introduced.
Mercedes will unveil the VLE in 2026 and plans to launch more models based on the VAN.EA platform. Combustion versions will also be available, sharing components with the electric models.
