Minecraft No Longer Officially Supports VR

  • Minecraft: Bedrock Edition no longer officially supports PC VR and PlayStation VR, with the removal of VR support announced last year and implemented this week.
  • Players on PlayStation now have no option to play Minecraft in VR, and those on PC have to resort to using the Vivecraft mod for the Java Edition.
  • There is an unofficial port for playing Minecraft in VR called QuestCraft 5.0, offering 120FPS performance on Quest 3, with a Pico version planned for later this year.
  • John Carmack was involved in developing Minecraft's official VR support, and despite efforts to bring the game to Oculus Quest, the removal of PC VR and PlayStation VR support has dimmed the prospects for Minecraft VR on Quest.
