Australian mining company Fortescue has ordered $400 million worth of electric mining equipment from Chinese manufacturer XCMG.
The order, which includes over 100 pieces of electric equipment, is the largest export deal in XCMG's history.
The equipment, including electric wheel loaders, dozers, semi-trucks, and graders, will be delivered to Fortescue's mining operations in stages between 2025 and 2030.
Fortescue aims to decarbonize its Pilbara iron ore operations and eliminate terrestrial emissions by 2030, replacing diesel equipment with zero-emissions alternatives.
