Researchers from Cornell University have developed a wearable textile called LivingLoom that allows living plants to grow on the body.
LivingLoom combines seeds with hydrogel fibers woven into wristbands and headbands, enabling the plants to sprout and grow while being worn.
Volunteers who wore the LivingLoom items reported feeling emotionally connected to the plants, with some adapting their routines to match the plant's needs.
The project aims to explore new ways for people to interact with nature, and it could potentially be used for digital farming and environmental monitoring in the future.
