Grindr, a dating app for LGBTQ+ individuals, is being used by about 25% of its users for professional networking rather than romantic connections.
Even the dating app's CEO, George Arison said that he has “personally hired or had a professional relationship with several people” he has met over the years via the LGBTQ+ app. “We encourage people to network on Grindr,” he added.
Grindr plans to expand its features beyond dating to accommodate friendships and networking.
