Onward Update 2.0 Is Out Now, Overhauling Every Weapon In The Game
- Onward Update 2.0 is the largest update by Meta-owned Downpour Interactive since the game's 2016 release, featuring comprehensive enhancements to weapons, graphics, and gameplay.
- Every weapon and piece of equipment in the game has received a visual upgrade, and 13 new weapons, such as the M870 and HK416, have been added while some old ones have been removed.
- Players can now customize their character models with the introduction of 10 operators per faction, amounting to a total of 20 choices.
- Two new maps, Overgrowth and a remastered version of Downfall, have been added, with enhanced graphics and new features like climbable ladders.
- The update also introduces a new co-op game mode called Retrieval, additional AI enemies, and various quality-of-life improvements.
- Significant changes include realistic bullet drop, scope zeroing, and advancements in scope technology, enhancing gameplay realism.
- Onward is available on Meta Horizon Store for Quest headsets, Meta PC Store for Link & Rift, and Steam for VR headsets supported by SteamVR.
- Weapon models, textures, and sounds have been entirely replaced, with the addition of new weapons like pump-action shotguns and revolvers.
- New weapon attachments such as grippods and hybrid scopes have been introduced, along with customizable character operators for more diverse appearances.
- Maps have been updated with new features like interactable ladders, improved lighting, and additional playable areas, enhancing overall gameplay experience.
