Pupils in England will be taught about online spending and scams through a new suite of lessons designed to improve financial literacy.
The package of 80 lessons aims to teach children aged five to 16 how to navigate online spending and avoid inadvertent large expenses.
Lessons cover topics such as in-game purchases, understanding bank statements and payslips, scrutinizing data and claims made by influencers, and avoiding scams.
This initiative is in response to reports of children spending significant amounts of their own or their parents' money online without realizing the real costs involved.
