UK defense technology company QinetiQ has tested the lithium manganese iron phosphate (LMFP) cathode active material developed by Integrals Power. The LMFP cells showed a higher useable capacity than conventional lithium iron phosphate under high discharge conditions.QinetiQ tested the LMFP pouch cells, which retained 99% of their original capacity at 2 C and 95% at 5 C.Integrals Power's LMFP battery cathode could allow for increased electric vehicle range and enable cost and weight reductions in battery pack designs.
