Qualcomm is reportedly working on a new smartwatch chipset codenamed Aspen, likely to be marketed as Snapdragon Wear W6, featuring one Cortex-A78 core and four Cortex-A55 cores.
The Snapdragon Wear W6 is custom-made for wearables, with support for LPDDR5X RAM, and will be manufactured by TSMC.
The new chipset is a departure from previous Qualcomm products and is expected to offer improved performance compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon Wear W5.
The release date of the Snapdragon Wear W6 is uncertain, but an announcement may happen in September at the annual Snapdragon summit, potentially leading to smartwatches with the new chipset in early 2026.
