Quest's web browser now has experimental support for automatic colocated WebXR, enabling sessions involving multiple headsets in the same space.
Version 39 of the Horizon OS web browser introduces a new Shared Spaces experimental setting that allows WebXR pages to create a shared coordinate space among headsets in the same room.
The Shared Spaces feature in the web browser is bound to the size of a room, with participants being able to establish a common coordinate system when restarting the WebXR session.
However, a major limitation of the Shared Spaces feature is that it only works between Quest headsets currently, as it leverages Meta's Shared Spatial Anchors technology without a vendor-neutral OpenXR extension.
