Samsung Electronics is in talks with AI start-up Perplexity to potentially integrate its tools into Samsung devices.
The discussions involve preloading Perplexity's app and assistant in upcoming Samsung devices and integrating its search features into Samsung's web browser.
A potential deal could result in Perplexity being a default assistant option in the Galaxy S26 smartphone range, and Samsung is expected to be a major investor in the upcoming funding round for Perplexity.
Apart from device integration, talks also include the possibility of building an AI-oriented operating system and an app for AI agents using Perplexity's and other AI companies' tools.
