Samsung Display is building a dedicated production line for foldable OLED panels at its A3 plant in Asan, South Chungcheong Province.
Samsung is expected to be the exclusive display supplier for Apple’s foldable iPhone, which is tentatively set to launch in September 2026.
Samsung estimates it can produce up to 35,000 foldable display units per month and as many as 15 million per year, exceeding Apple's anticipated demand of 6-8 million units.
The foldable iPhone is expected to feature a 7.8” main display with impressive display technology, a 5.5-inch cover screen, under-display camera, side-mounted Touch ID sensor, and a liquid metal hinge, with an estimated launch price of $2,100 - $2,300.
