Scientists at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) have developed color-changing materials called 2D halide perovskites.
By using an environmentally friendly method, the researchers were able to adjust the band gap of these materials, allowing for precise control over their color.
One of the perovskites was found to change color from orange to red when heated, and return to orange when cooled, showcasing its thermochromic switching behavior.
This discovery could have applications in smart technologies, such as coatings, inks, and optoelectronic devices like sensors, displays, and solar energy systems.
