Graduate students from Penn State’s Autonomous Robotics Competition Club (ARCC) have developed an affordable two-drone system for indoor search and rescue missions.
The system includes advanced mapping technology to assist first responders in navigating dangerous environments.
The drones, built using off-the-shelf parts and custom software, are cost-effective compared to other U.S.-made drones.
The ARCC team has won prizes in previous competitions and is currently working on an autonomous aerial vehicle for medical evacuations and participating in the XPRIZE Wildfire Challenge.
