Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) and Murata have unveiled the world's first connectivity module to apply the new SGP.32 Remote SIM Provisioning (RSP) specification of integrated SIM (iSIM) technology.
The module supports OEM IoT deployments, including point of sale (POS) products, asset tracking, healthcare solutions, wearable devices, as well as smart city, agriculture, and home devices.
The SGP.32 specification improves the provisioning and management of IoT devices, using a faster and more reliable IP-based protocol for sending SIM credentials and settings over the air.
The solution simplifies IoT device production and deployment, offering manufacturers flexibility in managing SIM profiles, while G+D's OS and management solution allows remote provisioning of SIM profiles in cellular IoT devices.
