Venkatasamy Vignesh, a former Infosys software engineer, quit his job to take up farming in India but found better opportunities in Japan where he now works at a brinjal farm.
Chennai-based Nihon Edutech in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry trains skilled workers in Japanese language, culture, etiquette, and technical training to place them in Japan.
Vignesh, who used to earn close to Rs 40,000 a month at Infosys, now earns around Rs 80,000 after deducting taxes in Japan.
He intends to return to India and use his experience to teach others about better farming practices and introduce innovative farming techniques.
