Software Engineer quits Infosys to work on a Japanese brinjal farm, earns double the salary

  • Venkatasamy Vignesh, a former Infosys software engineer, quit his job to take up farming in India but found better opportunities in Japan where he now works at a brinjal farm.
  • Chennai-based Nihon Edutech in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry trains skilled workers in Japanese language, culture, etiquette, and technical training to place them in Japan.
  • Vignesh, who used to earn close to Rs 40,000 a month at Infosys, now earns around Rs 80,000 after deducting taxes in Japan.
  • He intends to return to India and use his experience to teach others about better farming practices and introduce innovative farming techniques.
