Curiosity is continuing to make progress along the strategic route, traversing laterally across the sulfate (salt) bearing unit toward the boxwork structures.
The first sol of the plan focuses on remote sensing, taking several small Mastcam mosaics of features around the rover.
On the second sol, the instruments on Curiosity's arm will collect data of rock targets at the rover's feet.
During the long weekend, Curiosity will conduct atmospheric observations and continue driving along its strategic route.
