A recent drive by NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity was cut short due to challenging and ankle-breaking terrain. The rover was able to find a workspace with abundant bedrock, allowing for further scientific analysis.Curiosity will investigate the laminated rocks in the lower half of the current workspace.Various instruments on the rover, including APXS, MAHLI, ChemCam LIBS, and Mastcam, will be used to study the bedrock and surface features.
