Comet C/2024 G3 (ATLAS), nicknamed the "Great Comet of 2025," is currently the brightest comet visible from Earth this year.Discovered on April 5, 2024, the nonperiodic comet reached perihelion on Jan. 13, 2025, and was at its brightest with a magnitude of -3.8.The comet showed signs of disintegration but still displayed bright tails as it headed towards the edge of the solar system.According to long-term orbital calculations, if the comet's remains survive, it is expected to be visible from Earth again in about 600,000 years.
