Tesla has officially canceled the $16,000 Range Extender accessory for the Cybertruck, which was designed to boost the driving range from 325 to 470 miles.
The Range Extender would have taken up one-third of the truck bed's space and was initially promised to help achieve a 500-mile range target, but the expectations were later lowered to 445 miles.
Tesla announced this decision without providing a replacement product, stating that full refunds will be issued to those who pre-ordered the Range Extender.
The cancellation raises concerns about Tesla's ability to fulfill promises related to the Cybertruck, especially in terms of range and price, as the electric truck has faced challenges in meeting initial targets.
