The 2026 Cadillac Optiq will be General Motors' first vehicle with a Tesla North American Charging Standard (NACS) plug, followed by the Optiq-V.
EV drivers value Tesla Supercharger access on road trips, leading to more EVs now featuring a native NACS port.
The Optiq will provide customers with direct access to over 21,500 fast charging options across North America.
This move aligns the Optiq with other EVs like Hyundai Ioniq 5, Lucid Gravity, and Kia EV9 featuring a NACS port.
The Optiq lineup will include a rear-wheel-drive entry model alongside the existing dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version.
The rear-wheel-drive Optiq will offer 315 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque, while the upgraded AWD version gets 440 hp and 498 lb-ft of torque.
All Optiq models will feature an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack and provide a range of 300 miles with DC fast-charging up to 150 kilowatts.
Additional features include Super Cruise hands-free driving assistance system that integrates with Google Maps and adjusts speed based on posted limits.
Pricing details for the Optiq are yet to be announced, but the outgoing model started at $54,390.
Cadillac's Optiq has been popular, with 75% of buyers coming from other brands, hinting at potential success for the 2026 model.
