David Cheriton, a professor of Computer Science, Emeritus at Stanford University, is ranked among the 200 richest people in the world.
In 1998, Cheriton invested $100,000 in a startup founded by his students, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, who later created Google.
Cheriton's investment in Google turned into billions as the company took off, but he also made investments in other startups amounting to more than $50,000,000.
Despite his wealth, Cheriton still lives in the same house for 30 years, drives a Honda since 2012, and cuts his own hair.
