Tesla opened its largest Supercharger station in the world ahead of the July 4 weekend, located in Lost Hills, California, along the major EV corridor Interstate 5.
Half of the 168 stalls at the station are currently operational and are completely off-grid, powered solely by solar energy.
The station features solar panels on canopies, a solar farm generating 11 megawatts of energy, and 10 Megapacks for energy storage, enabling sustainable, zero-emission driving.
While it's unclear if all 168 stalls will be fully solar-powered, the station's primary reliance on solar energy has streamlined the permitting process and could ensure operational reliability even during power outages.
