Donald Trump threatens to impose a 25% tariff on iPhones if not made in the US, pressuring Apple to produce its products domestically.
Apple shares dropped 2.5% in premarket trading after Trump's comments, causing a dip in US stock index futures.
Last month, Trump alarmed Apple investors with tariff threats on goods from China, where majority of iPhones are assembled.
Apple reportedly planning to shift assembly of all iPhones for the US market to India to avoid impact of a China trade war, but Trump insists on domestic production.
