U.S. President Donald Trump has suggested imposing new tariffs on Apple devices and products made in the European Union, as well as on Samsung and other smartphone makers.
Apple might face tariffs of at least 25% if their iPhones are not manufactured in the U.S., while the EU companies could face tariffs up to 50%.
Shifting iPhone production to the U.S. could be challenging and costly, with estimates suggesting domestically made iPhones could cost up to $3,500.
Trump also indicated a potential 50% tariff on EU goods starting on June 1, 2025, citing stalled trade deal negotiations as the reason.
