Canonical has developed a unique onboarding process to help new hires settle in our globally distributed environment.
New hires are introduced to the business, stakeholders, and can expect to develop a good understanding of open-source technologies that Canonical develops.
Regardless of level or role, you will attend a 3-day induction sprint during the first few months, fully funded by Canonical, to gain a holistic understanding of the business and participate in team-building activities.
In this series, we hear from Amy Song who joined the company in the Customer Success team in February 2024, based in Toronto.
Amy shares her experience at Canonical, the onboarding buddy program, collaborating with colleagues worldwide, and the induction sprint held in person when she met fellow new joiners in Marketing.
Amy's role involves guiding customers across Canada and the US to deepen their understanding of Canonical’s products and services, driving retention and growth.
Working with people globally was new, but she enjoyed the flexibility of remote work that requires proactiveness and intentionality in communication.
Amy advises prospective applicants to apply if they enjoy working with thoughtful and smart colleagues, open-source technologies, remote work and eager to learn and grow.
Readers are encouraged to browse current openings, find their most interesting role, and apply.
Canonical puts great effort into employee onboarding to ensure new joiners like Amy feel welcome and engaged.
