A new analysis finds that even with an infinite amount of time, monkeys would not be able to type out the complete works of Shakespeare by chance.
Mathematicians created a model with a chimpanzee population of 200,000 and estimated the time required to type out Shakespeare's works.
The study concludes that even with improved typing speeds or increased chimpanzee populations, monkeys will not be able to develop non-trivial written works.
The infinite monkeys theorem is true but not feasible in reality, according to the study.
