Researchers have discovered a way to improve lithium-rich manganese oxides (LRMOs) for wider commercial use in batteries.Treating LRMOs with ammonium metavanadate creates a vanadium-doped structure that boosts battery efficiency and stability. The vanadium treatment increases the battery's initial Coulombic efficiency to 91.6%, suitable for commercial applications. The innovation could lead to more affordable, high-performance batteries for electric vehicles and renewable energy systems.
