Venture University & Futurum Education Launch VU Brazil, An Investor Accelerator Headquartered In…
- Venture University (VU) and Futurum Education have launched VU Brazil, an accelerator aimed at building more Brazilian venture capital and private equity investors.
- VU Brazil marks a pivot to building up both sides of the Brazilian investment ecosystem in a bid to continue to foster a successful growth environment for start-ups.
- Venture University was launched in 2018 and has graduated 40-plus global cohorts since then, with about half of alumni reportedly receiving job offers from a VC or private equity fund within a year after graduating.
- During its Investor Accelerator program, cohort members take a curriculum around deal sourcing, as well as conducing due diligence and investment evaluation, and then make up to seven investments at the end of each quarter. Since 2018, they have invested across 100-plus portfolio companies, including unicorns.
- VU Brazil will be headquartered in the Futurum Group’s office and campus space, which comes replete with co-working space, an auditorium, podcast studio and event space.
- The official launch of VU Brazil will take place on Thursday, November 7th.
- The 11-week program includes four investor education programs (VC Masterclass, Advanced VC Modules, Fireside Chats, and Startup Madness) as well as an in-depth investment apprenticeship, where cohort members join a top-tier global venture capital fund (VU Venture Partners)
- Individuals can join the Venture Capital Investment Apprenticeship for 1–4 quarters (3–12 months) and gain high investment experience presenting at weekly Partner Meetings, Management Meetings, Vertical Team Meetings, and Investment Committee Meetings.
- The VU Brazil’s Venture Capital Investor Accelerator will have specific content tailored to the Brazilian and Latin American market, including pitches from regional startup founders, Advanced Modules on the Brazilian & LatAm VC/PE ecosystem and legal system, and Fireside Chats with key speakers from the Brazilian & LatAm VC/PE industry.
- Venture University has different investment platforms such as VU Venture Partners, a global VC fund, VU Capital Partners, a global real estate fund, Bonded, an investor syndicate, Finally Fund Admin, an investment administrator, LP Match, matching LPs with GPs, and Innovators Closet, an ecommerce platform.
