Walmart is cutting more than 2,000 positions across five e-commerce fulfillment centers in the US to adjust its operations and better cater to online shoppers.
While some workers will lose their jobs, Walmart is also expanding in other areas and may reallocate some employees to different jobs.
The job losses at Walmart are significantly smaller than those at rival Amazon, which has announced further cuts of 9,000 jobs in addition to the 18,000 it has already eliminated.
