Walmart plans to install EV charging stations at thousands of Walmart and Sam's Club locations by 2030, with a current pilot program in Texas and Arkansas.
The company will have its own company-owned and operated chargers in addition to existing third-party chargers, potentially totaling a five-digit number of charging stalls by 2030.
Walmart will deploy 400 kW chargers with both CCS1 and NACS connectors, with plans to shift towards NACS in the future.
Charging will be enabled through the Walmart app, with the option for pay-by-credit card in the future, and the project is led by industry veteran Adam Happel.
