Warhammer 40,000's space dwarfs, also known as squats, will be making their first videogame appearance in Mechanicus 2, a turn-based tactics sequel set to release later this year.
Initially introduced in the 1980s, the space dwarfs fell out of the Warhammer lore due to the tyranid invasion in the second edition, but were reintroduced as 'the kin' with a revamped look and backstory in recent years.
Despite their previous absence in Warhammer 40,000 videogames, Mechanicus 2 will feature the space dwarfs as the non-playable mercenary faction, the Leagues of Votann, alongside playable factions like cybernetic tech-priests and robotic necrons.
Mechanicus 2 is set to be released on Steam and Epic later this year, while the original game is currently free to play on Steam until May 26.
