Xiaomi unveiled its new YU7 electric SUV in China, with up to 518 miles of range and 0–62mph acceleration in just 3.23 seconds, positioning it as a direct competitor to Tesla's Model Y.
The YU7 is considered China's answer to the Apple car, has three variants, and features advanced technology like active air suspension and an 800-volt architecture for fast charging.
Xiaomi founder Lei Jun aims to dethrone the Model Y in China, highlighting the YU7's superior range as a key selling point for EV buyers.
While the YU7's potential success against the Model Y depends on its price, reservations for the electric SUV will begin in July 2025.
