Shôtarô Kaneda’s Motorcycle, For Real
- For fans of the iconic anime Akira, there’s only one way to traverse the mean streets of post-apocalyptic neo-Tokyo, and that’s the futuristic mount of motorcycle gang leader Shôtarô Kaneda.
- The latest real version of Kaneda’s bike, created by ヲタ工房「ポンちゃンネル」(Ota Kobo “Ponchanner”), uses a twin-cylinder Kawasaki motor in an entirely custom-made frame, with dual single-sided swingarms front and rear and hub-centre steering.
- The bike features complex steering linkage at the front to replicate the original’s steering action and stainless steel fabricated body panels.
- This motorcycle build is considered the pinnacle of the art when it comes to internal combustion models and has garnered attention at a Japanese motorcycle show.

No two-wheeler Rapido, Uber bike-taxi in Delhi as Supreme Court stays HC permit order
- The Supreme Court of India has suspended the Delhi High Court's order, which stayed a notice from the city government to bike-taxi aggregators Rapido and Uber, allowing them to operate without aggregator licenses until the final policy is notified.
- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government has challenged the Delhi High Court's May 26 order, urging the Supreme Court not to take any coercive action against the bike-taxi aggregators until the final policy is implemented.
- On Monday, the Supreme Court heard two pleas filed by the Delhi government against the high court order, which permitted Rapido and Uber to continue their operations in the national capital until the administration notifies the final policy on the operation of two-wheeler non-transport vehicles.
